The candidate for Seat 1 in the City of Doral Council is
a qualified business owner and attorney. Elena Ortega-Tauler graduated from the
University of Miami School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree in 1988. During
her studies she participated in a clerkship at the County Attorney’s Office and
State Attorney’s Office in Miami-Dade County. She was licensed as a member of
the Florida Bar and began her private practice in 1988, eventually founding
Tauler Law Firm, P.A. Elena Ortega-Tauler is also a Supreme Court of Florida
Certified Mediator.
Having established herself as a professional, today she
seeks to serve the residents of Doral and take the growing city to a new level
of peace and prosperity.
Elena Ortega-Tauler is a mother of five children, the
youngest of which is 14. She is also raising her stepson and is guardian to a
14 year old boy. Her children have grown up in Doral, attended Ronald Reagan
High School, Doral Middle School, John I Smith Elementary School and Doral
Sports Camp. She was born in Cuba but has lived in the United States since the
age of 10. She is married to a doctor and has resided in Doral for 11 years.
Her entire career has been dedicated to serving the
public as an officer of the court and she is ready to continue that service as
councilwoman. “I am prepared to serve our community and build on the solid
foundation that has been laid for our city with a fresh perspective, in order
to take Doral to a greater new level of prosperity.
Elena Ortega-Tauler is a Christian woman. She volunteers
her time through pro bono work and service as board member of nonprofit
organizations such as Alfalit International, Inc., an organization that
provides literacy and education to the disadvantaged worldwide. She is also a
businesswoman. She was part of the first delegation that, along with
Commissioner Bruno A. Barreiro of Miami-Dade County and other county officials
and business leaders, traveled to Colombia after the implementation of NAFTA on
May 24, 2012. She is also a member of the Florida Foreign Trade Association and
received an award for her participation in training seminars.
She is inspired to take on the responsibility and honor
of being elected to serve on the council. Her motivations are selfless and her
intentions are genuine.
Her campaign just began in July and she has already
visited hundreds of homes. She enjoys speaking to other residents about the
issues facing the City of Doral and is humbled by the outpouring of support.
She is often seen at community events with her family and encourages her staff
at Tauler Law Firm to participate and volunteer their time. She has also made
time to attend events supporting the campaigns of Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos A.
Gimenez and School Board Member Susie Castillo.
Elena Ortega-Tauler is seen walking through the
communities within the City of Doral. Rain and heat cannot discourage her from
reaching her goal of personally meeting every resident possible. Neither can
her opponents. What are her goals? “I intend to protect the integrity of our
City and act in the best interest of its residents.”
